COVID-19 Safety Information

To Our Valued Patients:

When the pandemic hit our nation, many people’s lives and daily routines have been significantly impacted. Here at Amy H. See, DDS, preventing the spread of disease and infection control is a top priority for our dental practice.

Some of you may have seen some changes and additional safety measures now put in place during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes were made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. Our top priority is to ensure that all of our visiting patients, as well as our staff members, are protected and taken care of without impeding your ability to receive quality care.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We actively follow these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may have been issued as the pandemic continues. We believe it’s important to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to these agencies’ recommendations to ensure that everyone’s safety is top-notch.

You may notice a few changes when it is time for your next appointment. We have made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

For example:

  • We require everyone entering our office to wear a face mask. If you do not have one, we will provide one for you when you arrive for your appointment.

  • Before your appointment, our office will ask you a few routine questions about your medical health and recent illness. For your convenience, you can either text, call, or email us your answers.

  • It is very important that you notify us immediately if you feeling sick and are experiencing any flu-like symptoms. Please let us know right away if you are experiencing any of the following Covid-19 symptoms:

    • Fever or chills

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

    • Fatigue

    • Muscle or body aches

    • Headache

    • New loss of taste or smell

    • Sore throat

    • Congestion or runny nose

    • Nausea or vomiting

    • Diarrhea

  • Please give us a call when you arrive for your appointment so we can ensure the waiting room is clear and a treatment room is available. We want to avoid crowded waiting rooms, so you will be immediately seated upon arrival.

  • Once you arrive for your appointment, we will take a contact-free temperature reading and also measure your blood oxygen level during your check-in. You will also be given a 99% antibacterial mouthwash by a member of our staff to rinse out your mouth for 1 minute once you are seated in the dental chair for your treatment.

  • We have installed a HEPA air filter in all of our treatment rooms to provide clean filtered air and ensure a sterile environment with no airborne germs. We have also installed additional HALO central air purifiers for the entire office to ensure there is an extra level of protection and air sanitization against airborne viruses and germs.

  • We will limit the number of staff you will interact with in-person.

  • Our appointment booking times will be spaced apart longer to minimize contact between patients leaving or arriving for their appointment.

  • We will screen all members of our dental team upon arrival to the office daily, and make sure everyone tests negative for COVID-19 prior to returning to work.

  • Our staff will be using all PPE/ Disinfection and Sterilization Techniques recommended by the ADA, CDC, and OSHA.

  • We have implemented additional disinfection and sanitization procedures to ensure that our office is clean and ready to treat all of our patients with their health and safety being thoroughly protected.

We look forward to seeing you and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we have taken to ensure that you and your family are safe during your visit to our practice. If you have any additional questions about our safety measure or would like to make an appointment, please call our office at (919) 562-8200.

Thank you for being our valued patient and being a part of our dental family. We appreciate your trust and loyalty, and look forward to providing you with the best dental care through this pandemic.

With much appreciation,
All of us here at Amy H. See, DDS
